Two new canned wine brands join us for the August Juice Box

We recently discovered two new brands making some really interesting wines and knew they had to join our club. One is making some seriously good natural wines in France and the other makes one of our favourite wines to drink on holiday.

Scroll down to find out more about these brands and the others that make up the August Juice Box.

Kicking things off with a summer staple - sangria. It’s not summer without it and this pre-made blend is the perfect go-to. Made using a blend of three grapes; Tempranillo, Garnacha and Monastrell which is then mixed with cinnamon and citrus. This is the closest to the real deal in a can.

For our second can, we’re bringing the holiday vibes. Anyone who has gone to Portugal and tried their vinho verde will know, it’s the best wine to drink there. Vinho Verde is in fact, not green. ‘Verde’ refers to the young wines that are used to make it and this can be white, red or rosé varietals. This vinho verde from Gatão is clear and slightly fizzy in the glass. It’s delicate and smooth with notes of passion fruit and pineapple. Be prepared to be transported to Portugal with this one!

We’re heading to Piedmont in Italy next to discover a sparkling Chardonnay. This wine is a naturally sparkling Blanc de Blanc with aromas of grapefruit, melon, lemon and pastry. It has gentle bubbles and a fresh, light finish. A great choice for an aperitif.

Now for something a little different. A white blend from Swartland in South Africa made by Adi Badenhorst. This wine is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier which gives it some lovely complexity in flavour. Expect crunchy apple, honeydew melon and lemon sherbert (seriously!) on the palate.

Another wine coming from South Africa is this month’s rosé wine. It’s a blend of Grenache Noir, Mourvedre and Syrah made in a Provence style. It’s a pale salmon colour in the glass and has aromas of red cherries, plums and a hint of baking spice. The Copper Crew are changing their wines so this is the last time you’ll get this can in the Juice Box. It’s always a hit at our tastings and markets so enjoy it while it lasts. :)

Finally, one from a new member of the club. Mad Med are doing some really interesting things in Provence and we’re serious fans. This juicy red/white blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 40% Vermentino is vivid, crunchy and silky. It’s a red you’ll want to pop in the fridge.
