Revealed: The October Cans.

It’s October and with it, autumn is finally here and as usual, we’ve got some exciting new wines for you to try. This month’s Juice Box is made up of two white wines, two red wines and two sparkling wines; one rosé and one white.

Let’s kick off proceedings with some fizz, shall we? This rosé with ‘shimmering bubbles’ is from Australia and it’s full of wild berry aromas. On the palate, there’s a lovely balance of strawberries and cream. This sparkling wine has an intense flavour and good structure.

Moving onto our next wine; it’s a Spanish white wine made using 100% Garnacha Blanca grapes which have been hand-picked. This is definitly worth pouring out of the can and into a wine glass so you can appreciate the straw-green colour. Tropical and stone-fruit flavours of peach and melon on the palate with a mouth-filling texture.

Next, we have a can from the new range by When In Rome. These cans are all 187ml which is a quarter of a bottle of wine. We are very excited to share with you their Sekko semi-sparkling white wine. Fans of Prosecco will particularly enjoy this wine as it’s made using the Glera grape variety. This is the only grape you can use to make Prosecco and it’s widely planted in Veneto, Northern Italy. This is a crisp, refreshing semi-sparkling with balanced acidity and profound notes of acacia flowers and apple.

The next wine in the October Juice Box is sure to be a hit with our more experimental wine-lovers. It’s an orange wine made from a blend of Trebbiano and Yellow Muscat grapes that hails from Italy. It’s a fun and easy-going natural orange wine with notes of apricot, lemon and orange-blossom. This wine also comes in a 187ml can - the perfect size to try something new.

Sticking with natural wines, we have a really exciting natural red wine inside our October wine subscription boxes. It’s a new release from Candour which is somewhere between a light red and a dark rosé. It’s a blend of 80% Blaufrankish and 20% Zweigelt grapes grown on steep, slate soils in Austria. We’d recommend trying this can slightly chilled.

And our final can in this months wine subscription is a low-intervention red from Spain made by Hands Off. This wine has been made from a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes. On the nose, there’s aromas of cherries, raspberries and fragrant blooms followed up by some liquorice on the palate. It’s not yet available on the website but we’ll let you know as soon as it drops!
