The January Juice Box

Happy New Year and welcome back to the monthly reveal of the contents of our best-selling canned wine subscription box; the 6 can Juice Box.

If you’re new here, our Juice Box is our ‘mixed’ wine subscription. It changes with the seasons and is the only box whose contents completely change every month. This blog post covers our most popular sized box which is the 6-can version. You may receive different cans on the 3 and 4-can wine subscriptions.

Vinca make the most delicious organic Sicilian wines and you’ll get to try their white wine this month. The wine is made from carefully selected Catarratto - a grape synonymous with Sicilian white wine. The grapes are lightly pressed to retain all the crisp, tropical, and citrus fruit notes. This is a real crowd-pleaser and a great wine to try if your go-to is a Sauvignon Blanc.

If you like your white wine zesty and crisp, this Albariño will be one you’ll enjoy. It’s a little different to your usual Albariño in that it’s from the South African coast instead of Portugal. It’s full of citrus and stone fruit aromas with a classic maritime note of salinity. It’s fairly full-bodied and will pair well with seafood. We enjoy this as an aperitif.

This next can is fast becoming one of the club’s firm favourites; it’s Mad Med’s L’Orange canned wine. Made using 100% Vermentino grapes in Provence, a region famously known for it’s rosé wine production. It’s delightfully fragrant, bursting with aromas of citrus blossom, poached quince and herbs. It’s one of the most drinkable orange wines out there.

Do not be misled by the French cockerel on this can - this wine has been made in South Africa. It’s 100% Syrah and it’s full of red cherry, dark fruit and lily flower aromas with a hint of pepper spice on the finish. It’s soft, juicy and very drinkable.

New additions to the club usually get sent to our subscribers first, and this can is no exception. It’s a delicious wine from Hands Off, this time hailing from Chateau Lamothe-Vincent in France. It’s a classic Bordeaux red wine made in 2020 from blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Expect lots of dark fruit flavours with a rich texture.

Finally, we have included a St Laurent from the Canned Wine Co in our January wine subscription. It comes from Austria where the grape variety is indigenous. It’s full of plums and mulberries with hints of peppercorn spice.
