8 of our fave BYOB restaurants in London

This bring-your-own-booze list covers several types of cuisine. From Turkish to Punjabi and fancy to no-frills, there's something to suit every palate and wallet. Just don’t forget to BYO!

1. The Laundry, Brixton

Brixton Laundry BYOB

The team at The Laundry serve up some insanely good food (you must try the Sunday roast) and they have recently launched a BYOB night.

Every Tuesday you can BYO to ‘your heart’s content.’ If the weather is nice, sit out on their terrace and pretend you’re somewhere in Europe. The interior space is equally inviting. Well-behaved dogs are allowed to come too. What more could you ask for?

Find them at The Laundry at Walton Lodge, 374 Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, SW9 8PL.

2. Andu Cafe

This next restaurant actually inspired me to make this guide for you so it’s only natural to include them!

Andu Cafe is the first Ethiopian vegan cafe in the UK and its signature dish is a huge plate of vegetarian goodness. You’ll get a plateful of green beans, spinach, spicy lentils, yellow split peas, potatoes and cabbage. I’m still dreaming about the food months later.

Find it at 528 Kingsland Road, London, E8 4AH.

3. Koasarn - Tooting / Brixton / Clapham

A South London hotspot that draws in a crowd with its BYOB offering is Koasarn. 🔥 I've visited many times with a bag of cool Chenin Blanc cans. I’m more than happy to confirm that it never disappoints.

Find them in Brixton Village, Clapham and Tooting.

4. Tayyabs

Tayyabs London BYOB

An East London institution that doesn't need much introduction. Tayyabs has been serving up traditional Punjabi cuisine for 50 years and is a great place for group feasts. Just remember to BYO; we like to pair Indian food with a German riesling, grüner veltliner or rosé.

Tayyabs is at 83-89 Fieldgate St, London, E1 1JU.

5. The Breakfast Club

For many people, myself included, brunch is the best meal of the day. There are so many different options to choose from and better still, it can be eaten at any time. Enter, The Breakfast Club in Soho. This particular location operates a BYO policy so you can have some fizz with your hash browns and sauvy b with your avo toast at 7pm on a Friday night as you wish.

Find them at 11 Berwick St, London, W1F 0PL.

6. Roti King

Roti King BYOB London

Spot a long queue near Euston station? It's probably for Roti King and their ridiculously delicious roti and curries. They've opened another site in Battersea so South Londoners can get their fix too, but this one isn’t BYO!

The smaller location at Euston station is where it’s at for bringing your own booze. Get in the queue at 40 Doric Way, London NW1 1LH.

7. Fez Mangal

Fez Mangal BYO London

Fez Mangal is a Turkish kebab and BBQ house that serves Turkish wines and beers (Efes, we see you 👀) but also allows you to bring your own drinks to dinner. Whilst the restaurant itself is pretty no-frills, the food is the main draw here. West Londoners, this one's for you!

Get yourself a chicken shish of dreams at 104 Ladbroke Grove, London, W11 1PY.

8. Chutneys

Chutneys BYOB London

Tucked away in a side street close to Euston station is Chutneys. This is a great place to go if there’s a big group of you and they’ll even keep your drinks in the fridge if you ask nicely!

My bring-your-own suggestion for Chutneys would be a Muscat or a Riesling.

Get your dosa fix at 124 Drummond Street, London, NW1 2PA.
